GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Career fairs are usually held for those either entering or already in the workforce, but District 51 switched it up by holding a career fair specifically for 8th-grade students to make sure they get the right high school education for their futures.
The middle school career fair presented a variety of D-51 high school clubs and programs and some local businesses.
Students rotated through six areas of study, including business, STEM, arts, skilled trades, agriculture, and public safety.
Many 8th-grade students don’t know what their careers will be yet, but this event aims to help them dig deeper into the subjects they enjoy.
