Colorado State Patrol is reporting multiple accidents on I-70 east of Grand Junction due to a winter storm.
Traction and chain laws are in effect for multiple stretches of the highway, with snow and high winds causing crashes and cars sliding off the road.
The photo above was sent in by KREX 5 sports reporter Richie Cozzolino, who is heading to Aspen for the X Games. The eastbound lanes of I-70 near Rifle were closed for about an hour due to a multi-vehicle accident, but the road has re-opened, although traffic is moving very slowly.
If you have to travel on I-70 today, give yourself plenty of time and drive slowly.
