Cisco, Utah - A man from Delta County who was on a ride with the Bikers Against Child Abuse motorcycle group died on Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in Utah.
The Utah Highway Patrol tells KREX 5 News that 38-year-old Kevin Swoffer of Cedaredge, Colorado veered off the road near Cisco, Utah around noon on Sunday.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, Swoffer was heading southbound on State Route 128 near milepost 41 when he left the road to his right and lost control on the road's gravel shoulder while riding his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet but suffered significant head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Officials said speed and impairment did not seem to be factors in the crash.
According to family members posting on Facebook, Swoffer was originally from Independence, Missouri.
Friends have set up a GoFundMe account, saying he left behind a wife and children who need help.
