DELTA, Colo. – On November 7, 2020 at approximately 12 A.M. officers received a call of a business alarm at 1325 Highway 50, Grand Mesa Motor Sports. An officer arrived on scene and noted an exterior window that appeared to have been forcefully opened. The same officer observed a male, identified as Anthony Starleigh Gallegos, 40, inside of the business and appeared to be browsing through the merchandise for sale.
As Anthony exited the building with a suitcase and duffle bag, the officer made him aware of their presence and instructed him to exit the gated area of the business. Anthony did not exit the gated area and told the officer he had permission to be on the property, as well as claim to have keys to the business. After some time of Anthony attempting to exit the gated area of the business away from the original officer that instructed him to, other officers and deputies on scene took Anthony into custody.
Anthony was transported to the Delta County Jail where he was charged with alleged Second Degree Burglary, Attempt to Influence a Public Servant, Introducing Contraband in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief (Property Damage), Theft, Violation of Bail Bond Conditions, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, and Second Degree Criminal Tampering. Anthony is being held on a $5000 bond.
