Man in Delta is caught with an assortment of drugs

Delta, CO. – On November 23, 2020 at approximately 9:30 P.M. an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Magnum in the 100 block of West 2nd Street for displaying fictitious license plates. The vehicle eluded the officer through Main Street and Palmer Street until it came to a stop behind a residence in the 300 block of Dodge Street. The driver of vehicle, identified as Thomas Morfin (52) of Delta, fled from the vehicle on foot. Another officer who responded to assist was able to catch up with Thomas where he was apprehended after a brief altercation between the two. A search of Thomas’ person revealed 1.2 grams of Heroin and a total of 9.3 grams of Methamphetamine separately packaged. 

Thomas was booked into the Delta County Jail where is being held on a $2,500 bond for alleged Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Vehicular Eluding, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Government Operations, Second Degree Criminal Trespass, Drove Motor Vehicle While License Under Restraint, Displayed Fictitious License Plates, Reckless Driving, Failed to Use Turn Signals, and Open Marijuana Container.
