GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-St. Mary’s Hospital has noticed less people are coming to the hospital, even for life threatening emergencies.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic St. Mary’s Emergency Room is open and prepared for medical emergencies of all kinds, and has established multiple protocols to keep ER patients safe and separated from respiratory patients.

Some protocols the hospital is doing is keeping Covid-19 patients isolated.

“Anybody with respiratory illness is separated, right at the beginning to a different area, if they need admission they go to a different part of the hospital.”
