It was a feel good, do good environment at a blood drive held in Community Hospital
This is the first blood drive in honor of staff member, Doctor Kennan Vance, Orthopedic Surgeon and more than 100 people participated by donating blood.
Doctor Vance lost a lot of blood in a recent cycling accident while riding around the Colorado Monument.
He was just given the okay to stand on his feet and says he is recovering thanks to support he is getting from not only his family donating blood but those who have worked with him.
Doctor Vance says he couldn’t be happier, especially today, which happens to be his birthday, he add’s “I’m over whelmed I mean the support has been great, I’ve had a lot of support and a lot of people offering prayers and thoughts and support in my behalf and I felt them during the recovery and the rehab.”
Doctor Vance says its different to be on the other side of things but he’s trying to follow his own advice which is being patient until he get’s to a full recovery.
