At 5:10 p.m, police responded to reports of a navy blue Ford pickup truck which crashed into the concrete barrier near Pufferbelly Station restaurant. The truck was traveling southbound on First Street. there was one adult male in the vehicle, who has minor injuries.

A dog was also found in the vehicle and was handed over to animal control while its owner was transported to the hospital. The road is clear and the cause and manner of the accident are still under investigation.

Earlier Sunday, at about 1:30 p.m, a Honda Civic going eastbound on I-70 near exit 44 in Palisade struck the barrier on the outer side of the road causing the car to skid and roll over. The 25 year old driver sustained a cut to his face but no life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver was not speeding but the car is totaled. In the area, one lane eastbound was blocked for roughly two hours.

Police are urging people to drive with caution
