Driving reminders for the snowy roads

Local News

Grand Junction, Colo. — The winter weather is expected to impact much of the state, so the Colorado Department of Transportation is urging drivers to avoid the roads as much as possible.

The powerful front coming from the North is expected to bring us a mixture of rain and snow, and the roads are expected to be dangerous. Snow plows will be clearing the streets and highways, so as a reminder, if you choose to drive, you should never pass a plow, and doing so is a huge risk for you and others.

Every winter CDOT says several cars crash into snow plows, and therefore, when you encounter a snow removal operation, CDOT recommends never passing on the right. It also says you should never pass a snow plow that is working and never tailgate.
