GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Is your child going into sixth-grade next year? Does he or she have an interest in East Middle School’s Challenge Program? Now is the time to apply!

East’s Challenge Program offers a rigorous, high-quality curriculum for gifted middle school students. Students in the Challenge program take all core classes together and attend electives with other students at East. Click here to learn more about the program, including curriculum, answers to frequently asked questions, and the timeline and process for applying.

Students typically apply once as fifth-graders to enter the Challenge program as sixth-graders, though they can apply for seventh- or eighth-grade if they were not accepted for sixth-grade. Application information can be found here. Applications must be submitted online by 3 p.m. on Feb. 26, and notification letters will be mailed on March 31.

Family Q&A meetings have already taken place on Jan. 25-26, but you can watch a recording of the meetings at any time.
