Educational and Spooky in the Classroom

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Halloween may be candy and costumes, but certain teachers Tuesday morning used the holiday in a fun and an educational way.

New Emerson Elementary had their own Halloween-themed science experiments allowing kids to play with boo-bubbles and spooky slime --mixing academics and entertainment together.

Dos Rios Elementary also had a celebration of their own. First graders presented to a room full of parents -- a nursery rhyme.

Second and third graders got to self-choose a character and dress up. The students had a chance to animate themselves to their parents.

Second grade teacher, Mrs. Diaz said, "It's a perfect tie into Halloween, kids love to dress up. I have a lot of families that are actually going to use the same costume for tonight, and it's a good way to represent someone you would like to be"

Fruita Monument High School also hosted a trunk of treat in the teacher's parking lot.
