GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — This is Ralphie’s third year visiting the Sheriff’s office. Like every officer, he went through the hiring process, earned his official uniform, and abides by the same COVID safety precautions.
“Deputy Ralphie has been doing a lot this season;” Megan Terlecky informs, “He has been going around visiting with all of our partner organizations that help us here at the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, he’s been visiting with volunteers, and he’s also been putting out safety messages because Deputy Ralphie wants to make sure that all of the presents that we have purchased with our hard-earned money actually gets to make it under the Christmas tree.”
One of the biggest highlights from this year is his help with solving a stolen gift caper. He showed the community all the different aspects of a real investigation like processing the crime scene, interviewing witnesses and writing reports.
“It’s been a lot of fun. I just love meeting everybody here at Mesa County,” Deputy Ralphie shares, “Everybody’s been so nice, especially everyone at the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.”
Christmas Eve is Deputy Ralphie’s last day on the job as he heads back to the North Pole to help Santa deliver the presents.
