Email and Cell Phone Scam

Local News

Realtor, Robbie Koos, often communicates with her boss, and co-workers via email. So, when she received an email from her boss asking her if she was in the office, and to pick up a gift card for a client it came as no surprise.

What raised concern for Robbie was the email asking for three gift cards for $200 each. She knew something didn’t add up.

The request came in two waves, first an email, and then a text message on her cell phone an hour later from someone wanting a picture of the back of the cards.

Robbie wants to inform the public about the scam so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
