GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Price increases are coming to the Colorado National Monument at the start of 2020.
This 5 dollar increase will bring private vehicle costs up to $25, motorcycles to $20, and $15 for a hiker and biker pass.
The annual pass will go up to $45 but you can buy one before the new year and get it for $40.
The park service says based on public feedback it decided to increase fees on hikers, instead of doubling or even tripling other fees.
These fee increases were mandated by the interior department in 2018, but were delayed due to already hiking up prices in 2017.
Recreational fees do go to projects that benefit you as a visitor, though. You can expect to see continued improvements to Liberty Cap Trail and new improvements to the Upper Monument Canyon Trail for 2020.
