GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.

As Grand Junction Police search for answers in a hit and run accident just days ago, the family reaches out for help paying for medical bills after the cyclist’s pelvis was crushed in the impact.

The family of 28-year-old Skyler Diaz has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for surgeries including the reconstruction of his pelvis and reattachment to his spine after being hit on his bike in the area of Hwy 50 and Linden Avenue on Wednesday night.

According to the GoFundMe page, the latest surgery is just the first of what will be many medical expenses on a long road to recovery for Diaz.

Grand Junction Police say a reporting party saw a light-colored sedan leaving the scene, after striking Diaz on his bike on Wednesday, November 30.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about this incident, to contact non-emergency dispatch at 970 – 242 – 6707.
