Victim Identified in Fatal Redlands Shooting

Mesa County, CO - UPDATE:  The man who died during a shooting in the Redlands on Wednesday is now being identified by the Mesa County Coroner's Office as Brett Borza, 40, of Grand Junction. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest and abdomen.  The manner of death is homicide.


Law enforcement is on the scene of a shooting in the Redlands that has left a man dead.

There are few details at this point, but a spokesperson for the Mesa County Sheriff's Department says there is no threat to the public.

Below is the information that has been released so far by the MCSO:


MESA COUNTY, Colo – At 2:41 Wednesday afternoon, Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence at 2108 Saguaro Drive. 

One male is deceased. Witnesses are being interviewed and evidence is being collected to determined what occurred. 

At this time investigators believe everyone involved in this incident is accounted for and are cooperating with investigation.
