GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — There is currently a Flash Flood Watch in effect for the central mountain zones due to monsoon moisture fueling scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday July 6, 2022 until 8 pm this evening.

This watch is specific to the Grizzly Creek Burn Scar location on I-70 through Glenwood Canyon and could have future travel implications. If the National Weather Service upgrades the flood watch to a flood warning because of heavy rainfall over this burn scar, CDOT will implement a safety closure of I-70 from Glenwood Canyon to Dotsero, CO. No traffic will pass until NWS has released the warning and CDOT has deemed the roadway clear of any debris.
