Free Sports Physicals For All Area High School Students

Local News

FRUITA, Colo. – Family Health West is hosting its third annual free clinic for high school athletes to complete a physical for school district sports and activities. This clinic will be held on July 21 and 22, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day, in the Colorado Canyons Hospital physical therapy gym.

Due to COVID restrictions, there are a few things to keep in mind:

·         Only one parent or guardian may attend with the student. Also, students cannot be seen without a parent or guardian present during the physical.

·         Students should wear loose fitting clothes. And, masks are required to be worn by everyone inside the hospital at all times.

·         Pre-registration will make your clinic time smoother and faster, that link is: FHWcare.org/sports.

In addition to the physical, students may obtain a free COVID-19 vaccination onsite during the course of the physical. The student’s insurance card and photo I.D. will be needed for the vaccine, although it’s provided at no charge to the patient. During the pre-registration process, parents can note additional interest in concussion ImPACT analysis and knee injury prevention screening.

This free clinic is brought to you by Western Valley Family Practice, the Family Health West Physical Therapy Department, and Colorado Canyons Hospital and Medical Center. Parents or students with questions should contact Jennifer Kimbrow at (503) 475-4816.
