Girls On the Run of Western Colorado received a $2,500 grant from Norwex to support their program.

It all happened when student runner, Talija Starutins, put on her cape and medal to thank those at her church for their support.

This sparked members of the church to submit a grant request to the environmentally friendly product company, Norwex.

Once people affiliated with the comany read about Talijas efforts, they wanted to personally meet her and support the program.

For officials with the Girls On The Run Program, this grant money will help many young girls in more ways than just running.

” It teaches them to be great people, to stand up for themselves. It’s a program that helps them learn real life lessons,” said head Coach, Candace Diaz.

In 2014, Norwex contributed more than $100,000 to various charities and in 2015 their contributions totaled around $150,000.
