MESA COUNTY, Colo. –The Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with Mesa County Public Health a partnership’s called The Variance Protection Plan.
The plan is designed to rate participating Grand Valley businesses on steps they’re taking to keep workers and customers safe.
Businesses can earn up to five stars, and can contact the Chamber or Mesa County Public Health to participate.
This initiative is not only designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, but to help Mesa County stay ahead of the state in terms of reopening.
The chamber of commerce director says business ratings will be widely available for the community to view.
“People will be able to see which businesses have achieved that five-star rating online. We are creating a special Facebook page where we will feature them as they get updated, Mesa County Health Department. They will be published in the Sunday newspaper. We’re hoping across multiple media platforms you can see it.” -Diane Schwenke, GJ chamber director.
