GJ Man Arrested for Burglary and for Fleeing Police Twice

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Jonathan Kees, 20, of Grand Junction was arrested Monday morning after Wilson Ranch Subdivision homeowners reported he was walking through their backyards.

Grand Junction Police say Kees was jumping over fences in the neighborhood and broke into a home and stole clothing.

An alert went out to 157 people who live in the area, to be on the lookout for a man matching Kees' description.

Witness reports led police to the suspect and after a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody.

Kees is facing a number of charges including 2nd Degree Burglary, Obstruction of a Peace Officer, and Unlawful Use of a Controlled Substance.

Police say Kees was also involved in separate crime last night when he fled from a traffic stop on Horizon Drive.

He's facing additional charges in connection to that incident and is being held at the Mesa County Jail.
