GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Trivia teams: assemble! The event you didn’t know you were training for has arrived! The Academic Team from Grand Junction High School (GJHS) is inviting the community to come match wits with each other.

The Community Knowledge Bowl will be held at Grand Junction High School on Saturday, May 14. The friendly competition will begin at 12:00 p.m. and run to 4:00 p.m.

Teams of up to five members will take a short, multiple-choice written quiz that will determine their starting placement in the competition. The quiz will be followed by three oral rounds consisting of 50 questions each (What is Jeopardy, but with teams?) that will have teams paired against another team of similar ability.

The top three teams from the preliminary rounds will have their scores cleared before moving on to the 50-point final round. The team with the highest score at the end of the final round will win the right to house the prestigious traveling trophy.

A contribution of $250 per team is requested. The Knowledge Bowl stands as the team’s only fundraiser of the year, and all funds received from the event will go to helping the team make their way to both the state and national competitions. To register, email Head Coach Coady Shawcroft.
