GJPD donates $2600 to Grand Valley Oncology for ‘No-Shave November’

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Grand Junction Police Officers grew facial hair this month and some even dyed their hair, all to help in the fight against cancer.

For the second year in a row, GJPD participated in No-Shave November.

GJPD officers get to step outside of their dress policy by growing beards and coloring their hair.

There is a lot more to the month than the beards and the streaks. No-Shave November raises awareness for men’s health.

GJPD used this special month to donate $2600 to fight cancer in the Grand Valley.

They pay a donation in exchange for the privelage to do that for the month and then we take all those donations that are raised exclusivley by our staff, and we present them to Grand Valley Oncology at the end of the month.

Heidi Davidson, GJPD

Heidi Davidson also says GJPD raised about $500 more this year than last year and they hope it keeps on growing.
