GJPD Makes the Holidays Memorable for Local Kids

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Heidi Davidson, with the Grand Junction Police Department, dropped into the Fox 4 studio today to discuss some exciting programs that the department is participating in during this holiday season. One lucky 5th grader from each District 51 school will have a chance to "Shop With a Cop" tomorrow. It's the 26th year the GJPD has run this program. Each student will get picked up in a patrol car by an officer and spend the day eating and shopping away!

On Saturday, December 8th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. the SWAT Toy Drive is will be held in the parking lot of the Target at Mesa Mall. The event is a partnership with Toys for Tots! New and unwrapped toys can be donated on location and a SWAT bearcat truck will be there for kids to explore and take pictures with. The goal is to fill the truck! If you're unable to donate on Saturday, donations can be made in the lobby of the GJPD. The lobby is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
