GJPD Officer Cited In Pedestrian Accident

A Grand Junction police officer who was driving to work and hit a 14-year-old girl in Palisade has been cited in the incident.

The Palisade Police Department has issued a summons charging Grand Junction Police Commander Dave Arcady with violating a pedestrian right-of-way when he hit the teen, who was walking in a crosswalk whn she was hit the morning of January 17th.

The Palisade Police Department said in a news release that Commander Arcady is fully cooperating in the investigation.

He was driving a GJPD-issued personal car when the incident occurred.

The Palisade Police Department says the 14-year-old is continuing to recover from her injuries.
