DENVER (AP) — Colorado Gov. Jared Polis says he is issuing a statewide stay-at-home order beginning on Thursday at 6:00 a.m.
Polis says people should not leave their homes until at least April 11 except to shop for food, seek medical care, care for dependents or other essential reasons. Polis says a stay-at-home order became necessary to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. He says the measure could save lives.
As of Wednesday, 1,086 people in Colorado tested positive for the disease and 19 people have died.
