GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The City of Grand Junction is looking to gather input from the community on a new Electric Vehicle (EV) Readiness Plan.
The city is hosting an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bookcliff Activity Center located at 540 29 1/4 Road to hear comments, concerns and suggestions from the community. Community members will have a chance to voice their ideas about how the city can incorporate EVs into everyday life in Grand Junction and suggest potential charging locations. Input can also be provided online at EngageGJ.org/EV Xcel Partners in Energy is leading the creation of the plan.
Located at the crossroads of two major regional travel corridors, Grand Junction is uniquely situated to benefit from the ongoing transition to electric vehicles. By implementing infrastructure and policies that attract EV-driving travelers and local and regional commuters, the city sees an opportunity to become a regional charging hub. The EV Readiness Plan will provide a framework to capture this opportunity for the benefit of our entire community.
