GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Several people were transported to the hospital yesterday following a crash on Highway 6 & 50.
Grand Junction Police Officers responded to reports of a crash near Highway 6 & 50 and 24 3/4 Road on Sunday, July 23. A westbound truck reportedly drove over the center median and into oncoming traffic, striking an oncoming SUV.
The crash caused severe damage to the SUV, entrapping the driver inside the vehicle until Grand Junction Fire Department crews freed her from the wreckage. The GJFD transported her along with two young passengers in the SUV and the truck driver to the hospital with serious bodily injuries.
The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. No further information is available at this time.
