GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Spirt Express Dance team will perform at the Stadium of Fire in Provo, UT on July 2nd. Stadium of Fire also includes the biggest firework show in the United States and performances from country music stars Tim McGraw and Marie Osman.

The dance team was selected for the honor out of hundreds of video applications from across America. “Hundreds of people tried out and we were lucky enough and skilled enough to be chosen,” said Alise Knight, a dancer on the team.

Spirt Express will perform four dances total set to various types of music. The team has spent the last month leading up to July 2nd.

“It’s definitely a little stressful because we have such a short amount of time to learn these routines,” said Mina Perez, a dancer for Spirt Express, “and we’re learning it over video so we’re not actually with the people.”

One person who they’ll be on stage with but haven’t been able to practice with is Marie Osman. She will be signing while the team is dancing.

Now, the team has perfected their moves all that is left is the four-hour drive to BYU stadium and to dance.

“We get to do what we love out there and we get to do it for the troops and we get to honor our country,” said Knight, “it’s just amazing.”

You can tune into the performance online at the American Forces Network on July 2nd.
