GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The whole family will have a chance to attend a Halloween-themed “Get to Know Your City” event in Grand Junction this October.

The City of Grand Junction will host the event on Tuesday, October 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitman Park.

We are hosting this Halloween version of Get to Know Your City to include aspects that are fun and informative, with a nod to the season with tricks and treats as well as our community’s haunted history. In addition to displays with information about city projects, the event showcases one of the city’s four historik parks along with offering interactive games and a chance for kids to enjoy some of the vehicles we use in our work to keep the city clean and safe. City staff have been working hard to prepare the park for special event reservations and we are excited to host the first event as part of our reimagining of how Whitmanr Park can be used by the community.

City officials encourage attendees to park in the parking lots on Colorado Avenue between 4th and 5th Street, at Ute and 6th Street and the History Museum, or at parking meters downtown. The entrance will be at the signal/crosswalk on the corner of 5th and Ute.
