Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – In case you missed it, Melanie Kenney and Larry Fukui joined KREX5 News at Noon live to talk about the GJ Senior Center.

COVID-19 closed the Senior Center for 15 months, and ever since rumors have swarmed that it is closed permanently, according to Melanie Kenney. Fukui and Kenney are putting that rumor to rest, though, as they assure the community that the Center is open and ready to accept new memberships!

The Senior Center is located at 550 Ouray Ave. behind the main library, and is open 8 AM – 4 PM Monday thru Saturday. To reach it, you can call (970)243-7408.

It is also having a Craft Fair on November 13th from 9 AM – 3 PM for anyone who would like to attend. Lunch will be $5.00 for a hot dog, chips, and a drink – yum!
