GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado Creative Industries recently announced their 2019 grant recipients, and one of those organizations is right here in Grand Junction.
The Grand Junction Symphonic Orchestra received a grant of 8,500 dollars for the 2019 fiscal year. They are one of 93 arts and cultural organizations that received grants, and the only one in Mesa County. These grants were given to "produce and present cultural activities that create jobs and enhance quality of life", according to CCI's announcement. GJSO says they are planning on using the money to continue enriching the community with music.
The orchestra is starting their season this weekend, with performances Saturday and Sunday at the Avalon Theater. Tickets can be bought on the GJSO website, or at their location on Main Street.
