Grand Mesa downgraded to level 2 avalanche danger, San Juans still ‘considerable’

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Grand Mesa has been downgraded to level 2 avalanche danger after being categorized as having the highest danger in the state.

The San Juan Mountains still currently have the highest avalanche danger in the state– listed as considerable, which is a 3 out of 5 rating.

We are still in the early stages of winter here on the Western Slope– and we will continue tracking conditions.
