GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A local hospital is getting recognized in a huge way.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance has granted the highest level accreditation to Community Hospital’s Grand Valley Oncology.

Last year Grand Valley Oncology obtained the basic level of Patient-Centered Medical Home Accreditation.

This year, GVO has gone on to achieve the highest level for the award by earning the Patient-Centered Specialty Practice Accreditation.

Grand Valley Oncology is now the only cancer center in Colorado and one of just 31 cancer centers in the United States to achieve this accreditation level.

For all specialties in health care, only 517 practices have achieved this highest level accreditation.

Our team at Grand Valley Oncology has been working towards this for two years now. The patient centered specialty practice focuses on teamwok and collaberation, which is particually important for cancer patients, to know their entire care team is working collabertively to ensure the highest quality of health care possible.
