MESA COUNTY, Colo. — With food concerns across the valley on the rise, food pantries and organizations that help alleviate the hunger issue, are seeing increased requests for services.
In response, the Caring For Our Home Community Fund is stepping in.
The fund was set up by local business leaders to bring together dine-in restaurants and nonprofits across the valley, to serve meals to those in need.
On Thursday, May 15th, the fund received its largest donation to date from the Guys Giving Club, which is an organization of men across the valley, who give money to non-profits in need, out of the kindness in their hearts.
To date, the Caring For Our Home Community Fund has received over $41,000 dollars from local businesses and individuals.
With the fund, over 5,800 meals will be served via local nonprofits to those families, seniors, and other struggling from food insecurity.
