GRAND JUNCTION– At least three law enforcement agencies are converging on the Colorado National Monument following reports of a vehicle going over the edge, in the area of Cold Shivers Point.

UPDATE (1:57 pm) Officials say the only occupant of the vehicle is deceased.

(11:30 am): There is a roadblock set up about a third of a mile from Cold Shivers Point, as authorities respond to the situation.

A spokesperson for the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office says a car was found at about 8:40 this morning, although there’s no word yet on the driver of that vehicle.

Several agencies are on the scene, including the Grand Junction Fire Department, Glade Park Fire department, Mesa County Search and Rescue, and staff members from the monument.
