Highway Shooting In Montrose

GRAND JUNCTION-Colo. — Shortly before 10:30 PM on Tuesday, deputies responded to reports of gunshots on highway 50 near mile marker 81.

A woman and a juvenile were traveling northbound when another vehicle drove up next to them, rolled down the window, and began shooting.

The woman was able to dial 911 while continuing to drive, until she met authorities on main street in delta.

She suffered minor injuries from the broken glass and the juvenile was unharmed.

Officials with the Montrose County Sheriff’s office say it is possible that the suspect’s vehicle, believed to be a white, 4-door sedan, followed them to delta– but officers were unable to locate it.
