GRAND JUNCTION- For our final story celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, we take a look at how the sugar beet industry impacted the Grand Valley.

Beginning in the early 1900s, the sugar beet industry helped the Grand Valley grow economically, and bring people from all over the world who took advantage of the opportunities.

But, as much as this industry played a role in providing opportunity in the Grand Valley, certain groups who settled here still faced hardships.

Some families who settled in the Grand Valley for its agricultural opportunities have descendants who are still here today.
