GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.

The Colorado AAA says there will be 834,000 drivers traveling this Thanksgiving on Colorado roads. The Colorado AAA also says this week will be the highest Thanksgiving travel volume ever recorded in Colorado, and they also warn this combined with wintry weather will be the perfect storm for travelers.

Here are some simple steps to keep you moving through the wintry mix to see your family and friends.

O’reilly’s Auto Parts manager, Mike Alstatt, says, “A lot of people overlook wiper blades. Wiper blades, you don’t know you need them until it’s raining or snowing on you. So, we always recommend if you’re getting ready to go on a trip check all your fluids, put new windshield wiper blades on.”

If you get stuck out in the snow, Mike offers a simple solution, “If you get stuck in an icy spot you can use de-icer windshield washer fluid can melt the snow around your tires, and get you out.”
