This Veterans Day, one local school put on a very special concert in order to celebrate those who have served our country.
For the 13th year in a row, Holy Family Catholic School held a free community concert to honor local veterans and their families. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes performed patriotic tunes, a local Boy Scout troop presented a ceremonial flag folding, and those who served were recognized for their service.
In addition, every year, one special guest in invited to be individually honored during the performance.
Elisa Janson Jones, the school’s musical director, also said that this was an opportunity not only to honor and recognize Mesa County’s veterans, but to teach kids about the importance of veterans, and their vital service to this country.
