GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Hundreds of people celebrated Labor Day by showing their patriotism, taking part in what participants called “The Freedom Rally” in Grand Junction.
The event started with folks driving along North Avenue in vehicles decorated with political and patriotic signs, and ended in a rally in Lincoln Park. Many in the large crowd, waving flags and dressed in red white and blue, were showing support for President Donald Trump.
One attendee, Alexis Paterson says she is proud to show her patriotic support. “I, like most of these people, stand for America, it’s our country, it’s one of the best countries in the world. No country can be perfect but we’re pretty damn close to it,” she says.
Among the speakers at the event was Republican congressional candidate for Colorado Distrcit 3, Lauren Boebert. Attendees cheered as she gave an impassioned speech.
The event was put on by a political organization called “Stand for the Constitution.”
