BASALT, Colo. - In what has been a month long battle, the Lake Christine Fire has grown once again, as some residents in the area are now on evacuation notice.
The fire has burned more than 11,000 acres now and has spread to the north. The fire is at 32% containment.
Crews fighting the blaze dealt with afternoon thunderstorms, wind gusts, and rain, causing a threat of flash flooding in the burned area.
People living in Missouri Heights, Cedar Drive, Toner Creek, Seven Castles, and Taylor Road remain on a pre-evacuation status.
Stage 2 fire restrictions and a flight restriction remain in place.
