GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — It’s starting to feel alot like summer, which means, you’re gonna want to cool off.

Thankfully, a few new amenities are now available at Las Colonias Park, including The River Park.

The River Park at Las Colonias Park features a lengthy and accessible lazy river, two standing wave water features, and beach and wading areas.

These amenities are accessible to a wide range of ages, abilities, and experience levels– and are now open to you and yours.

Some restroom and concession buildings are now also open. One of the concession areas will be occupied by Stand Up Paddle Grand Junction for easy access river rentals.

“They are aiming by memorial day to rent river equipment out of that facility. There are a lot of water parks around colorado that aren’t accessible to kids, for example, or people who don’t have skills in kayaking…we really try to emphasize that ours is not a white water park, its a river park.” – Ken Sherbenou

The City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation encourages you to enjoy Las Colonias Park’s new amenities, but asks that you please practice social distancing. For more information on this massive Las Colonias Park project, click here.
