Local businesses host lunch for first responders

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — With the wildfires and the pandemic, first responders are working hard to keep us safe, so to show the community’s support for their work, some local businesses came together this afternoon to serve the local firefighters, deputies, and more lunch.

The lunch was hosted by the owners of Knowles Enterprises and McDonald’s King Enterprises. The two businessmen noticed the hard work police officers, firefighters, and other first responders are doing in the community on a daily basis. They said they don’t agree with any negative opinions about law enforcement or the other agencies. Therefore, the lunch, catered by The Cowboy and the Rose, is to show their appreciation for the first responders’ good work, and the first responders could not be more thankful for the food. The lunch had a huge turnout, and the guests-of-honor said they are happy the community can look at them all in a positive light. In addition, they said it is tokens like this lunch that makes them do their jobs even better.
