GRAND JUNCTIION, Colo. — The Community Food Bank usually holds food drives at grocery stores, but the Coronavirus pandemic is making that a little difficult this year. Covid is also creating a bigger need for food and supplies for families on the Western Slope.
So representatives are asking folks to donate directly to the organization. And the easiest way to do that is to send financial support through their website.
During the holidays, the Community Food Bank gives families a holiday meal with all the trimmings, along with the everyday food. It’s to make the holidays just a little more festive for the families in need.
“The holidays are a super stressful time for everyone, and it’s even that much more difficult for those who are struggling to make ends meet, so we try to take that pressure off of those people’s plates, and try to make sure that everyone can have a festive holiday meal with their loved ones,” says Alisha a Wenger, the Executive Director for the Community Food Bank.
