Local Girl Scout Troop is helping Lower Valley Fire District get PPE

Local News

FRUITA, Colo. — Girl Scout Troop 17091 is doing more than selling those famous cookies this month. The local troop designed and posted signs to spread the word that the Lower Valley Fire District, in Fruita, needs more personal protective equipment (PPE).

The Lower Valley Fire District was having a hard time getting gloves, hand sanitizers, and masks to protect the department from COVID. Fortunately, Troop 17091 heard the news and had to help their hometown heroes.

The fire department needs large latex gloves and disposable masks, as well as hand sanitizer, and so far, these little girls have been a big help. About 4 gallons of hand sanitizer, several boxes of gloves, and many masks have already been donated, and the Girl Scouts couldn’t be happier to serve.

The Lower Valley Fire District will be accepting donation until the end of the month, and you can drop off any PPE you may have in the box outside the department.
