WESTERN COLORADO – Several local officials and energy leaders met with various national and international companies earlier this month to talk about the benefits of doing business in Western Colorado.

Representatives traveled to Calgary, Canada earlier in June to help “sell” the Western Slope as a viable area for expanding energy businesses.

Some of the leaders from Western Colorado that attended the conference include individuals from local governments, economic development organizations, and energy-related businesses.

Even though it was an oil and gas trade-show, officials say that their focus was mostly on the manufacturing side of businesses.

After making many contacts, local leaders now hope to pursue some of the companies that may be a good fit on the Western Slope.
