Local Organizations partner to feed VA Hosptial lunch, veterans meals for the year

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Fidelity Mortgage, Enzo’s Ristorante Italiano, and VFW post 3981 have partnered to feed The VA Medical Center staff and veterans.

“It’s difficult for folks who work in a hospital environment to come to work every day not knowing what atmosphere they are going to arrive in.” – Len Laude, West Slope VFW

Fidelity Mortgage is providing funds to help Enzo’s serve the food, while VFW post 3981 helps arrange the food distribution.

On Thursday, only medical staff were fed, but in the future, veterans will be served as well.

The effort to continuously feed the veterans is funded by fidelity– and carried out by this partnership.

“I’ll let them know how many we need each month, they have been gracious enough to allocate funds for that.” – Len Laude, West Slope VFW

One medical worker commented on the gracious donation, saying, “the way the community has come together, I think it has brought everyone closer… not just the hospital staff — but people.. they really know what we do now.”
