Local Women's Group Preserves American History

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Daughters of the American Revolution hosted their Spring Card and Games Party.

There was a small entry fee and the opportunity to win door prizes.

Funds collected from the event go back into supporting the community, including scholarships for women achieving their GED.

Organizers say they're dedicated to educating the community, promoting patriotism and preserving American history.

"We're promoting, recognizing and honoring our ancestors, and the achievement of women all the way down the line, so its been a terrific month for us," said Katey Kelly with DAR.

According to DAR member's, they're all direct line descendants from a patriot who was a part of the American Revolution.
