GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Mesa County Elections division held its logic and accuracy testing Tuesday for the upcoming primary on June 30th.
This test brings in leaders from local political groups in the county to fill out primary ballots, all in an effort to test the efficiency of the county’s ballot counting system.
Local party leaders mark test ballots for each possible candidate, then tally the results on the election division’s systems.
The process ensures ballots are easy for folks to understand, and there are no technical issues ahead of election day.
A Mesa County Elections staff member tells us the last to day register for Colorado’s primary to receive a ballot by mail is June 22.
24/7 ballot drop boxes will open beginning June 8.
